P to the S

I have some solos, bitches! That's right, I'll be channeling Dolly when I sing "Jolene," and there will be other lovely ditties to tickle your eardrums (or something). OMG to the MAXXX!!

My Rock n' Roll Debut

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I will begin my career as a rock n' rolla on Thursday, June 11th at The Handlebar in Downtown Greenville. That's right, yours truly will be singing with The Substitutes. I'm really just there to round out their sound, but who cares? I'M WITH THE BAND. The Substitutes perform songs from the '60s and '70s, so if you like that kind of music, come on down and listen! I don't know all the details yet, but I'll know more after rehearsal tonight. Yessss it will be so awesome!

The End.

Oooops!

I know I promised updates in my Etsy shop, but I seem to have misplaced my camera...I will update as soon as I find it. I've been making some lovely baubles, so I'll upload a few things at once when I finally find it.

Love and pancakes!

Ack!

Sorry I've been gone for so long! I've been unbelievably busy with school, work, and some freelancing! Please check out the blog that I designed for The Lilypad Children's Boutique, an adorable shop here near Greenville, SC.

I've also been busy making some gorgeous wedding jewelry for my beautiful friend Melissa, who is getting married in two weeks! You can see her bridesmaids' jewelry here, and her necklace here. She is going to be such a gorgeous bride! I went to a shower for her last Friday, and it was one of the most fun ones that I've attended. It was really laidback, and the shower games were actually fun and not annoying, which was refreshing. Of course, her bridesmaids are awesome so I should have expected no less!

Summer school starts June 8th (wish me luck!), so until then I'll be furiously making jewelry, cleaning the Crap Room (no, it's still not finished!), and trying to post here more often!

I found out that I'll be student teaching at Duncan Chapel Elementary School this fall, which is close to Furman University, where I went to undergrad. I did a clinical with the old art teacher at Duncan Chapel when I first started grad school, so it'll be nice to go back again. It's an adorable neighborhood school, and I'm so excited to be there! I'm not so excited about the not-working, having-no-money part, but hopefully we'll be able to scrimp and save (and sell jewelry!) before then.

Nick has poison ivy over about 75% of his body right now, which is fun. He finally started another round of steroids today, so hopefully that will get rid of it again, this time for good! He's supposed to be on Prednisone anyway for his Crohn's Disease, but he hasn't had that or any other of his Crohn's medicine for a long time. He's actually very healthy (fingers crossed!), and is training for a triathlon this fall (and yes, he is crazy). The closest you will catch me to a triathlon (or any sporting event, really) is on the sidelines, cheering and trying to stay out of the sun.

My best friend, her husband, and their new adorable baby are in town tonight, so I doubt I'll get any new pieces made this evening, but look for updates in my Etsy shop on Friday and Saturday!

Peace and love,

Jess
